Abstract mixed media textile wall hanging, contemporary wall fabric decor

This textile artwork is an abstract mixed media piece in vibrant colours that was influenced by a fantastic sunset I saw one Summer. Caught at the right time the light really changes the colours of everything around you doesn't it? I was lucky enough to be in nature so I took some photos (after soaking up the view myself) and went to work on creating this piece. It is the first to be listed in my Mixed Media collection to bring that warm beautiful evening into your home. I auditioned reclaimed and repurposed textiles and trimmings and took time to move them/reorient them until I was totally happy and then went hunting for the perfect embellishments. I found these in some rescued jewellery findings, beads and sequins. The final piece was created by blending these with hand stitching in a range of stitches. The piece was then stitched to quality weight watercolour paper and then attached to an 8" x 8" mount. The piece is now ready for an 8" x 8" frame of your choice to fit your decor or it is sufficiently heavy to prop against a wall, on a shelf, wherever you want a vibrant pop of colour.
