Full description
This unique handmade necklace has been created from recycled sterling silver and natural raw sapphire gemstones, combining the organic beauty of molten metal with the natural colours and textures of raw sapphire.
I make each silver sphere by melting small scraps of recycled sterling silver, then pressing a raw sapphire nugget into the molten metal. The silver and sapphire spheres are carefully soldered together to create the pendant, before the necklace is finished with a simple toggle clasp.
The reverse of the pendant has a wonderfully irregular, textured surface, created naturally by the imprints and textures left behind as the silver was molten. These little imperfections are part of the character of the piece and make each necklace truly individual.
There are six raw sapphires set into the necklace, each with its own natural shape and colouring.

Sapphire is the September birthstone, making this necklace a particularly lovely birthday gift for someone born in September. Handmade jewellery also makes a thoughtful and personal gift for a special occasion - or simply as a treat for yourself.
To help reduce unnecessary waste, you can choose how your necklace is wrapped. I offer either a gift box tied with ribbon, ready to give, or carefully wrapped in tissue paper if a box isn't required.
