Hi and welcome to The Old Button Sews, where I sell beautiful gifts designed and sewn by me, together with a range of sew-it-yourself craft kits.
Most items are dispatched within 2-3 working days, and I post Tracked 24 at a flat cost, no matter how many items you buy. (Cards and bookmarks are sent First Class, at a lower postage cost).

You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.

My Christmas Flowers collection of vintage and reclaimed fabrics and trims is inspired by a gorgeous hand-embroidered textile fragment. In soft tones of reds and greens, offset with creams and a hint of gold, this slow stitching kit is perfect for Christmas crafting projects, yet fresh enough for your textile art creations to be displayed all year round.
My kits are ideal for those new to the art of slow stitching, as well as those looking to build their collection of beautiful fabric scraps. Presented in a sturdy card box that fits through a letterbox, Christmas Flowers would also make a lovely gift for a crafty friend.
Available in two sizes - the photos show the larger box. The smaller starter kit has the same textiles and trims, but in smaller pieces.
Your box will include a piece of calico fabric for a foundation to sew into, needles and pins, and my introduction to slow stitching leaflet and stitching guide (you can swap this for an emailed copy plus extra textiles - see options).
All the co-ordinated fabrics and trims are carefully selected from my own collection or sourced from local vintage shops and individual sellers. This kit includes:
- a fragment of a hand-embroidered table runner
- vintage Japanese striped silk
- upholstery textiles
- tweed wool offcut from a medieval costume project
- scraps of antique velvet curtain
- floral quilting cottons
- fragment of an antique silk cushion cover (very fragile)
- sari silk cotton sample (colours vary)
- upholstery braid
- vintage and reclaimed cotton lace
- ribbon, ric-rac and tape
- tapestry, darning and knitting yarns
- hand-dyed wool & linen yarns
- embroidery threads (new)
- old buttons from my tin (some may vary)
