Helen Burgess Jewellery, is literally just me Helen, I make jewellery from my shed studio in my back garden, my bedroom office and anywhere in the house in the evening. Much of my work is inspired by the nature of my home island of Mersea, near Colchester, Essex. As well as my love of simple design and textured metal surfaces.
The materials I regularly make jewellery from are recycled sterling silver, recycled gold, sterling silver, copper, 14ct gold filled, and occasionally brass. Semi-precious stones, precious stones and beads are also featured in my work.
Unfortunately due to new laws for a small business it is no longer workable without the threat of being fined to send my jewellery to the EU including Northern Ireland without a representative. Sending my work elsewhere in the world also seems increasingly more expensive and complicated for a one woman band to contend with. My deepest heartfelt apologies for this inconvenience.
Thank you very much for your support.

Lichen earrings, handmade from fine silver, recycled sterling silver and white natural pearls. Anytime I am on a walk I get a little over excited if I see an abundance of lichen. The tiny shapes and colours are a joy to behold! So when I found a stick with lichen on it, along the roadside after a tree trimming near where I live, I saw an opportunity to take a mould of part of the lichen. With the moulds I can use fine silver clay to push into the moulds and fire the silver clay leaving a solid fine silver cast of the lichen.
Pearls are traditionally used to celebrate 30th anniversaries. They are also a great classic wardrobe staple, however with these earrings I had taken them on a less traditional form of mismatched asymmetrical pearl drop earrings.
The earring pins, earring backs and pins that attach the pearls to the silver lichen forms are also solid recycled sterling silver.
The earrings measure 2.45cm by 0.9cm, and 2.3cm by 0.7cm
These earrings are ready to post, but please do allow up to three days before being dispatched. Posted by Royal Mail special delivery for a secure safe delivery.
Packaged in a ribbon finished earring box.
There are fine silver lichen stud earrings available as well, through my Folksy shop: Helen Burgess Jewellery
Thank you so much.
