Full description
The magical Orchid - from the beautiful British Marsh Orchids in meadows to the tropical Orchids suspended in air, with no need for soil - there are around 28,000 different species worldwide.
Materials:
Sterling silver.

The flower measures 14mm diameter
The ear-wires are an elegant twisted wire design - making the total front length 35mm (wire & flower).
I also make a smaller flower version of this design too.
The inner petals curve inwards, giving them a sculptural feel & the finish is a soft polish rather than a high shine, highlighting the natural textures.
How it's made:
I made the original Orchid by sketching shapes onto sheet silver & hand-sawing them out. Each layer was then soldered together in stages. Repeats of this model are then made in London using the ancient art of lost-wax casting. My castings are then tidied up & finished back in my Pembrokeshire workshop. All earring wires are handmade & can be custom made to any length.
