Full description
Greylag geese flying in formation are an evocative and familiar sight across the Fenland landscape. As dusk descends, their dark silhouettes sweep across a sky washed with delicate tones of rose, violet and soft gold, bringing a wonderful sense of movement and atmosphere to the scene. Below, the graceful seed heads and stems of cow parsley rise from the margins of the fields, their intricate forms creating a gentle contrast against the open landscape beyond.
I have aimed to capture the quiet beauty of this fleeting moment, when the vast Fenland skies begin to glow and the calls and flight of the geese become part of the changing evening landscape.
Painted using professional watercolour paints on Bockingford 140lb watercolour paper.
The painting measures 10 x 10 inches / 25.5 x 25.5 cm and is presented in a 16.5 x 16.5-inch / 42 x 42 cm wide off-white mount, ready for framing.
