Full description

The perfect gift for people who love to write & sketch. The journal cover, made in a unique vintage Welsh tweed, features wool felt orange poinsettia flowers with green & yellow leaves. The journal cover comes with a 160 lined page notebook & is refillable with an A5 notebook, sketch pad or diary (spine 1.5 cm/half an inch or less). To keep your place the journal cover has a convenient white-edged linen ribbon bookmark, & is closed with an organic elastic loop & orange corozo button. Lined in pale orange/yellow organic cotton fabric from India.

The vintage tweed is unique; it was woven in the mid 1970s from the fleeces of Pedigree black Welsh sheep which were farmed just north of Newport on land which is now under the M4. The farmer wanted to use his Pedigree sheep fleeces so he had two tweeds woven from them which he then had made into suits. I was lucky enough to meet the farmer's daughter-in-law a few years ago and she passed on to me the tweeds and their wonderful history. The colour in this tweed is natural and not dyed.

Any accessories shown in photographs are not included in the sale of this item.
