These are very dainty, lightweight gemstone earring , each one features an 8mm natural white Moonstone bead topped with a trio of genuine 3mm faceted genuine Sapphire beads separated by 1.8m sterling silver spacers.
The beads are threaded onto sterling silver pins and hung from sterling silver ear-wires.
We generally associate Sapphire with blue, but actually this form of the mineral Corundum can be found in all the colours of the rainbow.
All except red Corundum are called Sapphire - the red version being Ruby.
The Sapphire beads I have used here are a deep blue.
Sapphire is associated with truth, justice and divine protection.
Sapphire is a birthstone for September and Virgo.
Moonstone is also a birthstone for September and Virgo.
In Hindu mythology, moonstone was thought to be solidified moonbeams.
In ancient Rome, the stone was linked to the Moon Goddess Diana and was thought to bring love, wealth and success.
When light strikes moonstone, a phenomenon called 'adularescence' can be seen, a shimmer often described as moonlight shining through thin clouds.
Handmade in my home workshop here in beautiful Devon in the UK, these would make a lovely gift for a birthday, anniversary or as a treat for yourself.
Sapphire and Moonstone are birthstones for September, so they would be particularly suitable for someone born in that month.
These earrings measure approximately 1 inches (2.5cm), excluding the ear-wires.
Your earrings will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a small organza gift bag.
Price includes delivery within mainland UK.
