A striking handpainted keepsake box perfect for keeping small treasures.

A pine wooden box with a hinged lid and metal clasp measuring 6inches long, 4inches wide and 2inches deep.

I used black acrylic to paint the whole of the box giving it two coats then using a mix of metallic acrylics and black and white marker pens to create the ornamental bird, flowers and leaves on the top and underside of the lid.

It has been given several coats of clear matt finish wood varnish making it durable, easy to wipe clean and gives a lovely shine.

I wanted to keep the colours similar and went with a mix of blues and greens that stand out against the black.

This piece is the only one I have made making it one of a kind and would make a unique gift.

I use Royal Mail 2nd class service for this item which is included in the price, I will email when I post it out.

Your Keepsake box will be wrapped in tissue paper with shredded raffia paper inside a brown cardboard box, it will have an outer layer of packing plastic and fragile stickers applied.

To care for your box please don't submerge in water or use abrasive cleaning methods, wipe clean with a dry or damp cloth.

I was inspired to make this after remembering about my Grandad's Ukranian laquered box that I used to see when I was a child, I experimented with different ornamental flowers and birds on different plain wooden boxes that I had painted black.
