English paper piecing patchwork is such a lovely traditional pastime; relaxing and portable slow sewing for any quiet moments. You can start right away with this beginner kit, nothing else is needed except scissors (or just a thread cutter).

It is ideal for calm hand sewing and perfect as an introduction kit, for a gift -or just for yourself.

As well as vintage fabric, templates, cotton threads and needles this kit contains my booklet of photo instructions for the whole patchwork process and completing two different pincushion projects.

You can use the completed 'hexies' to make at least 2 traditional flower style hexagonal pin cushions or 4 smaller mini hexie pincushions, or a mix! You may choose to use them to make a single sample piece of patchwork e.g. as on a small pillow or piece for a hoop, or 4 flower shapes (mug rugs/coasters/applique patches, lavender sachets)...as you wish!

Contents include; 30 pieces of hand cut hexagonal vintage cotton fabric pieces (4 sets of 6 and 6 different single ones) and 30 die cut card templates. Also included are matching threads for tacking and sewing, a card replica vintage needlebook with a needle and pins, and enough filling for at least two pincushions. There are also a few of my vintage buttons and pages for planning and extra templates .The kit comes in a robust A4 size project box.

N.B.The fabric mainly 60s-70s cotton off-cuts from dressmaking; carefully kept by me in a smoke and pet free home. I doubt I will ever use all I have collected and I think this is a great use for it.
