Create your own slow stitched collage with this simple kit.
Suitable for stitchers with some basic knowledge of slow stitching.
A small selection of fabrics and threads are all you need to create a beautiful textile collage.
Slow stitching is a relaxing and mindful activity, therefore the process is more important than the end result. It really doesn't have to be for anything other than the pure pleasure of creating something by hand, but if you like, you can stitch your piece to put in a frame, use as a patch to sew onto a bag or clothing, or add to the front of a journal or sketchbook. These are just a few ideas, but you may think of others.
The kit includes a selection of plain, striped and patterned fabrics in red, beige, white and blues, 2 metre lengths of embroidery floss in four colours to match, a needle and needle threader.
Your own scissors and pins may also be helpful.
Your finished piece will measure approximately 13cm x 13cm. (The size of the light coloured base fabric in the kit).
There are no instructions provided in the kit for how to stitch your collage, as this allows for you to intuitively create something unique to you, but I do give examples of finished pieces in the listing photographs, and I have a video on my YouTube channel sharing my process which may give you inspiration for your own piece.
