Full description
This unique patchwork quilt features a combination of three vintage Welsh tweeds in plain grey, yellow, green & grey check, & navy with green & yellow stripes, with a lovely vintage green tweed dotted with a gorgeous assortment of orange, blue and yellow flecks. The pattern of the pieced top is very simple because I think the tweeds speak for themselves. The navy tweed was a display length sent to a shop in Beverley, Yorkshire. The shop belonged to a large chain because the Beverley shop is Branch 130. During the 70s & 80s men's outfitters in Beverley included Dunn & Co (which specialised in tweed jackets), Burtons, & Greenwoods. Unfortunately, I have not been able to trace the exact shop.
The organic cotton fabric backing & hand stitched binding is a lovely grey marl cross weave which complements colours found in the tweeds. The natural British wool batting used as wadding gives the patchwork quilt a lovely weight and warmth. Perfect for all seasons, this patchwork quilt is ideal for snuggling under on a chilly evening or as decoration for a rustic, farmhouse feel.
Please note in keeping with the sustainable ethos of Forage & Hearth, the backing fabric is also pieced.
