Full description
A full moon seen through the tree branches in a swirl of cloud. The welcomingly lit windows in a house give this scene a familiar feel. It is made of fused glass and measures 8cm x 13cm. It is 6mm thick and there are a few bubbles - nearly always present in fused glass - which show as small stars. It is curved and has a ground base so it stands without wobble.
To make it three pieces of glass and a mixture of powdered glass colours have been combined with silver leaf and small glass chips. Fired three times at different temperatures each of which take 8hrs it has been fun to make. The process is hard to predict but on this occasion it has come out as I had hoped.
