Safety information

The hanging hardware on the back of the calendar is made from eight firmly attached eyelet screws and picture hanging wire. Whilst every care has been taken to tuck the sharp ends from the hanging wire away where the two ends join together, care should be taken when handling the calendar. Regular checking of the hanging hardware is recommended to ensure all is still firmly attached.

Full description

Handmade solid Sycamore hardwood Celtic Wheel of the year calendar. Approximate diameter is 35cm.

This celtic wheel of the year calendar features a central circular Triquetra design with celtic knotwork ring and oak themed panels. The calendar shows the four solar festivals of the Summer and Winter Solstices and Spring and Autumn Equinoxes and the four cross quarter fire festivals of Imbolc, Bealtaine/Beltane, Lughnasa/Lammas/Lughnasadh and Samhain. Popular associated dates or date ranges for each of the eight festivals are given as they relate to the Northern Hemisphere. The hanging hardware on the back allows for the calendar to be rotated and hung according to the time of year. Alternatively, it can be placed on a flat surface with something underneath to protect the table top.

The calendar is made using hand tools to work the wood before the pyrography design is applied, also by hand. No stencils or lasers are used.

This is a handmade piece and as such is not precision made.

There maybe colour variation or small imperfections in the wood which are natural and are part of the natural character and history of the wood. There may also be slight hand tooling marks on the surface from the hand planing process.
