Full description
Little Robin red breast Christmas tree hanging decoration full of character and mischief.
This little robin has been knotted by hand using my own design. I have used recycled cotton for the main body and a shimmering bamboo string for his red breast. The eyes are safety eyes and his beak is made using cotton bakers twine. his feet and legs are wrapped florists wire.
The robin stands approximately 9cm tall and the hanging street is just over 10cm.
The macrame robin would make a great addition to the Chirstmas tree.
The Robins red breast is linked to warmth and spiritual signs, thus we have the saying 'When robins appear, loved ones are near'. The sighting of a robin can bring a sense of peace and memories from lost loved ones, especially over the festive season, making the robin a lovely gift to hang on the tree in remembrance of cherished ones.
Robins are associated with Christmas in various ways. Their bold characters and curious nature make the robin a welcome visitor to the garden and their red breasts stand out in the winter snow. In Victorian times postmen wore bright red coats and were nicknamed robins and Christian fables say that the robins breast was scorched red from fanning the flames to keep baby Jesus warm. Which ever way you look at it the little robin is a well loved character of the festive season. and no Christmas tree would be complete with out his little red breast shining out between the twinkling lights on the branches.
