Wildflower Meadow plants, an original Batik on Silk.

At the bottom of my garden sits a small wildflower meadow, where I sit with my morning brew.

Here I am experimenting with batik, the technique of using wax as a resist.

First I applied the wax, then I let the paints move freely across the silk. This allows the colours to spread and blend naturally. The area with wax resists the colour allowing the white of the fabric to shows through. Working in this slow, intuitive way is very calming and means each painting is unique.

This piece is small, which makes it perfect for displaying on a shelf, in a nook, or anywhere that could use a little burst of colour.

It is a sample piece created as a study for a larger artwork and because of this it is offered here as part of my Summer Studio Sale.

It will be initialled on the front mount and signed on the back, and can be supplied

Ready to frame window mounted 14 x 14 cm.

I am happy to suggest cost effect frames to suit.
