This hand spun yarn celebrates the citrus jewel of the Christmas season: the humble orange. Once a rare winter luxury, oranges were cherished as gifts, tucked into stockings as symbols of generosity. Their bright scent and colour cut through the cold, bringing a little warmth and light to the darkest days of the year.

As a child, there would always be a satsuma and a bag of chocolate coins in my stocking on Christmas morning, and now at thirty-eight years old I still receive these two small treats from my dad at Christmas, no matter what else I may have asked for. It's a lovely tradition, and one that I am carrying on with my own child.

This yarn brings together the richness and brightness of those golden moments. Undyed Wensleydale wool gives it a strong, silky base. Bamboo fibre, dyed a juicy orange, gives smoothness and an intense glow. Tussah silk adds shimmer, while orange neppy wool adds bursts of texture. A dash of Merino wool rounds it out, lending a touch of additional softness to this stunning blend.
