Full description
Fused glass long, narrow 'channel' dish. Dozens of thin rods of glass in soft blue, green and cream have been cut to size and laid out onto a clear glass base, and then a double layer of clear glass squares laid out on top in a chequerboard pattern. When fused to 805°C the rods are displaced to give the wonderful optic or bubble effect and decorative scalloped edge. It required a great deal of patience and accuracy, but I think the result was worth it and I love the restful colours.
The dish is 30cm x 9.5cm, and has gently curved edges, with a maximum depth of 2.5cm approx. As it is semi-transparent, it looks best displayed on a white shelf.
