Part of my Ihlathi collection, named after the Zulu word for forest, this handcrafted fibre artwork is inspired by the quiet beauty of evergreen woodland throughout the seasons. Rich green cotton cord reflects the enduring canopy of evergreen trees, while the soft white fringe represents fresh snow resting among the branches, creating a calm and beautifully textured piece of original artisan home décor.
Handcrafted using cotton macramé cord and carefully arranged natural shells, the circular design combines wrapped fibres, concentric rings and delicate shell details to create depth, balance and quiet movement. Every element is individually wrapped, placed and finished by hand, celebrating the natural texture and character of the materials.
Each piece in the Ihlathi collection is individually designed and handcrafted only once. Once complete, the design is retired and will not be repeated, making this a truly one-of-a-kind piece of fibre art.
Display it on its own as a focal point, style it as part of a gallery wall, or place it on a shelf, console or sideboard using a wooden display stand. Its natural textures complement modern organic, Scandinavian, contemporary, bohemian and everyday interiors.
