Full description
Inspired by memories of reading Leon Garfield's 'Black Jack' as a child where I first heard of an apothecary, this Collection is designed to evoke a sense of mystery and explores some of the natural remedies used in the mid 1700s.
My painting, "a late night visit", is how I imagined the apothecary's premises would have looked when Tolly and Black Jack arrived in the story, frantically seeking help.
The second photo illustrates how the painting complements the decorations in the Collection.
Painted in Acrylic on a 20cm x 20cm panel board, this unframed painting is a one-off and is signed and dated on the back.
