Full description
A card based on one of our 'Curious Creatures of Bracklesham Bay' series of images, on card and handmade paper. The series was inspired by the wonderful, intriguing and stimulating shapes that the groynes had been sculpted and carved into by the actions over years of the waves and the tides.
Groynes, for those who don't know, are wooden structures erected on beaches to prevent beach erosion by the constant action of those waves and tides, so the waves, instead of washing away the beach, wear away the groynes.
The way that the waves had shaped this groyne always reminded us of a bird diving into the sea to feed, so we added a drawing of a fish being caught by our bird to complete the image.
The groyne, bird and fish image is printed onto handmade paper and applied over the design on the card. The original photo of the groyne is printed on the back of the card.
The card is 135mm square, and will be sent by second-class post.
