Full description
A greetings card based on an image from our 'Curious Creatures of Bracklesham Bay' series, an idea which was inspired by the shapes the groynes on Bracklesham and Wittering beaches had been transformed into since their installation.
For those who don't know, a groyne is a wooden structure installed on a beach to prevent beach erosion. Like any wooden structure, over the years, the tides and, principally, the waves erode the wood, and sculpt and shape it anew.
We began to see weird and wonderful creatures in the groynes, the pebbles and stones caught in the groynes providing eyes and teeth, and saw that the addition of some background illustration to our photos would create amusing and intriguing images - we hope you agree.
The edited photo has been printed onto handmade paper and added to the design on the card. Our original photo of the groyne is printed on the back of the card.
The card is 135mm square, and will be sent via second class post.
