Full description
A card based on one of our 'Curious Creatures of Bracklesham Bay' series of images, on card and handmade paper. The Curious Creatures were inspired by what we saw within the shapes of the groynes on Bracklesham, and East and West Wittering, beaches.
For those who don't know, groynes are wooden structures placed on a beach to prevent beach erosion. Over the years, they are sculpted and transformed by the action of the waves and the tides into wonderful shapes, and in those shapes we began to see all sorts of creatures. The stones and pebbles that become lodged in the wood create all sorts of details like eyes and teeth.
Add in some background illustration and graphics and a Curious Creature is brought to life. In this groyne, one of the things we thought of was a bird's beak and eye, hence our Ibis.
The photo of the groyne has been printed onto handmade paper and added to the design on the card. The original photo is on the back of the card.
The card size is 135mm square, and will be sent via second class post.
