Full description
One of our 'Curious Creatures of Bracklesham Bay' series of images. This was the groyne that inspired the whole idea of the Curious Creatures in the first place.
For those who don't know, a groyne is a wooden structure, a number of which are erected along the length of a beach to prevent erosion of the beach. The groyne's shape, geometric at the outset, is over the years transformed by the action of the waves into a more organic contour and in the groynes we saw a whole world of creatures, with the construction bolts, and the pebbles that become lodged in the wood, providing eyes, teeth and other details.
Our additional illustration did the rest, and a Curious Creature came to life.
The photo of the groyne is printed on handmade paper added to the printed design.
The frame size is 230mm x 230mm x 20mm, and can be wall-hung or can stand alone.
Choose between a black, white or wood frame.
The item will be sent, boxed, via Royal Mail 2-3 day, tracked service.
