In this painting, I ve focused on a buzzard perched on a weathered stump, just in the act of turning alert, but at rest. I worked with a very limited palette, mostly shades of brown, to reflect the natural, grounded presence of the bird and to keep the mood understated.
The movement is subtle a twist of the head, the lift of feathers and that s where I wanted the interest to sit. Instead of dramatic contrast or vivid color, I leaned into texture and tone: the softness of the feathers, the rough bark of the stump, and the way light quietly plays across both. It's a quiet piece, but I hope it holds attention in a steady, deliberate way.
I get all frames custom made from frames express and generally order them when the painting sells. It usually takes them a few days to be made and posted, then I frame them myself before posting them out. This allows me to offer the works unframed or framed. There are two options here, so let me know which you prefer.
