I was eager to create artwork with motion, incorporating a vast landscape with galloping wild horses was the perfect fit for this piece. I began the process with mapping out my landscape using pastels and then adding the horses with colour pencils.

This was my first colour pencil portrait art, I decided to go a little out of my comfort zone with this one! I was really intrigued by the reference photo, with the use of blues and only through the lens of his glasses are the natural tones apparent.
Created using mostly colour pencils and pastels for background.
