Hi and welcome to The Old Button Sews, where I sell beautiful gifts designed and sewn by me.
My collection started as a child with an old button box and some vintage embroidery threads given to me by my late grandmother. Over the years I have collected many vintage and retro items (note I only cut into pieces that are too damaged or marked to be used in their original form) as well as a whole sewing room full of bits and pieces.
I decided I would use some of this collection to create curated boxes for the newly re-discovered art of slow stitching. Get yourself a cup of tea, and relax with a needle and thread.

Slow stitching kit, inspired by a beautiful vintage fabric depicting pastoral scenes on a soft blue background with pink accents. Perfect for vintage style projects, this kit is ideal for those new to the art of slow stitching, as well as those looking to build their collection of beautiful textile scraps.
In a French style, these romantic cameos are often referred to as "L'aveu" (declaration of love) or a shepherd's idyll. Choose from four scenes - Girl playing musical instrument, Couple playing instruments, Embracing couple with cat, Boy with dog.
Available in two sizes, both are based around the same carefully curated collection of antique, vintage, reclaimed or salvaged textiles. The larger box has extra pieces not shown in the photos.
