Description

This pretty limpet shell necklace was created using a mould that I took from a real shell that I found whilst beachcombing in Pembrokeshire, West Wales. It has been individually crafted by hand using precious metal clay (a material made from recycled fine silver particles, binder, and water). When fired, the binder burns away, leaving solid fine silver. Capturing all the natural details of the original limpet shell, this little silver pendant would make a thoughtful gift for any coast lover as a reminder of being by the sea. It has been very lightly oxidised with a darkening patina, to highlight the shell's delicate ridged texture. MATERIALS & MEASUREMENTS - Recycled fine silver shell pendant with a sterling silver ring bail: 13mm wide x 16mm tall (19mm tall including the ring bail). - Recycled sterling silver trace chain which fastens with a classic bolt clasp: 45cm / 18 inches long. POSTAGE & PACKAGING This necklace will be carefully tissue-wrapped and presented in a recyclable gift box (with reusable insert). It will be shipped within 3 days of order via Royal Mail Tracked 24 postal service. GIFTING If your purchase is a gift and you would like me to include a handwritten note to the recipient, please write your message in the 'Note to Seller' box at the checkout. There is no added charge. A NOTE ABOUT HALLMARKING Under UK law, all silver items weighing over 7.78g must be hallmarked by one of the four UK assay offices. As this necklace falls under this weight, it is exempt and does not bear a hallmark. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message using the 'Contact' button at the top of my shop page and I would be happy to help.

The beautiful beaches of Pembrokeshire, West Wales. I love the intricate texture of shells, finding them calming to turn over in my hands. This inspired me to create tiny replicas in silver, as a wearable reminder of being by the sea.
