Full description
A stunning collection of material and trims in rich colours and textures inspired by a scrap of antique velvet curtains. Perfect for vintage style projects, this kit is ideal for those new to the art of slow stitching, as well as those looking to build their collection of beautiful textile scraps. A lovely gift for a crafty friend - I can post direct and the box fits through a letterbox- or buy one for yourself and create something beautiful.
One of my larger kits, with over 40 pieces of co-ordinated fabrics and trims.
In the box you will find an Introduction to slow stitching and stitch guide, a piece of firm calico fabric as a foundation for stitching onto, and lots of small snippets of vintage or salvaged fabric and haberdashery trims. There is also co-ordinating embroidery threads, and a sewing needle and pins.
The fabrics and trims are all carefully selected from my own collection or sourced from local vintage shops and individual sellers, and include.
- scraps of antique velvet curtains - red and gold
- pieces from salvaged curtain samples
- fragments of vintage silk and cotton cushion fabrics
- upholstery fringing, flat braid and cord
- vintage and reclaimed lace, ribbon and tape
- snippet of antique Welsh wool blanket and quilt
- floral and check quilting cotton
- tapestry, darning and knitting yarns
- hand dyed wool & linen yarns
- old buttons from my tin (colours vary)
