I have always been fascinated by the mythology of King Arthur and the Knights of the round table. The Arts and Crafts style that I have been working in for this series of prints, seemed the perfect medium to explore the Arthurian legend.

This is a limited edition of 50 hand-made prints. The image is my original design, conceived through a series of preliminary drawings and research and developed through an illustrative, design process. The accompanying photographs show my initial sketches and the lino before I began the cutting process.

Full description

For this linocut print, I have depicted the Lady of the Lake giving the magical sword Excalibur, to King Arthur. In the distance you can see the legendary castle of Camelot.

The printed area is 20 x 20cm and the overall paper size is 29 x 29cm. The work is printed in black printing ink on Lokta paper, which is a 100% sustainable paper made from evergreen shrubs.

Please note that the image is unframed.
