I made this pattern for a boston bag as I saw a lovely patchwork version that I loved and wanted to work out how to make it. If I need a new bag for an event, I just make one like this to match my outfit. This is a one off as I wanted to make something with some lovely craft cottons I bought on a recent trip to Cambridge. I do like patterned and pretty bag linings as I feel that linings should show off the outer fabric and make your bag look gorgeous all over. I found a way to finish the bag more easily and neatly by hand stitching the zip in to the bag. This may sound as though it would not be strong enough but I can assure you it is. I have made lots of bags this way for my own use and as gifts and they are very strong. You can even see this very bag being made on my youtube channel.

Full description
I made this bag using my own pattern in these bright colours on the first sunny spring day this year. It has a lovely pink lining and PVC handles. The bag stands up on its own and has enough room for all your daily essentials.
The fabric is quilted using a bright yellow thread. Folksy only allows 5 photos so I could not show all the detail unfortunately. But this is a really lovely bag.
The zip is hand stitched in to the bag giving it a really unique feel. I have a couple of these for my own use and they stand up very well.
An added feature is the hand made fabric flower on the zip pull
