This dormouse was inspired by the quiet charm of woodland creatures and the way stained glass can capture personality through shape and colour alone. Working with opaque glass gives the piece a soft, velvety presence, almost like a silhouette caught in a moment of stillness. The curves of the tail, the rounded ears and the gentle posture all came together slowly through the Tiffany method — cut, foil, solder, refine — until the dormouse felt alive in its own quiet way.
Because this piece is entirely unique, it carries the joy of a one‑off creation: a design that emerged from the glass itself, shaped by the natural variations and textures within each piece. It’s a small celebration of craft, character and the magic of handmade work.
Safety information
This item is glass and therefore breakable. Please handle with care and secure the item to a fixed point. All edges have been ground to remove sharpness. Consider how you display the glass and that it is in a safe location away from wagging dog tails or small hands! Lead solder has been used but this is very low risk. However, I always wash my hands after handling to reduce the risk to zero.

Full description
This listing is for one stained glass dormouse made using opaque glass. This little creature is a true one of a kind piece (the only one in the world) and will make a unique, eye catching talking point in your home.
The finished dormouse measures approximately 17 cm high by 16 cm wide, including the hanging hook. There is a single hook at the top, and for stability it is recommended that you secure it to two points when hanging.
Each dormouse is created using the traditional Tiffany foiled glass method. Every piece of glass is hand cut, edged with copper foil, soldered and cleaned, and sometimes finished with patina. Craft glass naturally contains tiny textures and variations, making every piece completely original. The colours shown in the photographs are as accurate as possible.
This dormouse looks lovely hanging in a window, on a wall hook, or as part of a woodland themed display. Its soft opaque tones and gentle shape give it a warm, storybook quality that brings a little moment of whimsy into any room.
Please ensure that you place (and secure) your glass in a safe location; if the piece falls it is likely to break. The item is not a toy.
