This butterfly design grew from a love of confetti glass and its unpredictable patterns. No two sheets are ever the same and the colours seem to drift and settle like petals or falling leaves. The swallowtail shape suits the gentle movement within the glass and gives the finished piece a sense of quiet flight. Each butterfly is cut and assembled by hand, allowing the natural variations in the glass to guide the final look.
Safety information
This item is glass and therefore breakable. Please handle with care and secure the item to a fixed point. All edges have been ground to remove sharpness. Consider how you display the glass and that it is in a safe location away from wagging dog tails or small hands! Lead solder has been used but this is very low risk. However, I always wash my hands after handling to reduce the risk to zero.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.

Full description
This stained glass swallowtail butterfly is cut from maroon and pale yellow confetti glass. Every piece of confetti glass is completely individual and it is a challenging material to cut, which makes each butterfly a one of a kind creation. The colours scatter through the glass in a way that gives the wings a soft and lively character.
The finished butterfly has a small hook on the reverse and measures about eighteen centimetres in height including the antenna and about nineteen centimetres in width.
The piece is hand cut and crafted using the Tiffany foiled glass method. Each section of glass is edged with copper foil, soldered, cleaned and sometimes treated with a patina. Craft glass often contains tiny natural marks or variations which add to the individuality of the finished work. Colours are shown as faithfully as possible although screens may vary.
Please place and secure your glass in a safe position. If it falls it is likely to break. This item is not a toy.

Postage is charged at the second class tracked small parcel rate. This delicate piece will be wrapped with great care and any overpaid postage will be refunded.
