This bag began with my love of strong, characterful fabrics — the kind that feel good in the hand and bring a little joy to everyday tasks. The marine animals print has a playful, coastal feel, and pairing it with a deep blue lining gives the whole piece a sense of calm and depth.
I wanted to create a tote that was both practical and uplifting: sturdy enough for weekly shopping, cheerful enough for days out, and handmade with care so it becomes a trusted part of your routine. Each bag is cut, stitched, and finished individually, making every one slightly unique.

Full description
This large handmade tote bag is sewn from strong upholstery weight cotton printed with a lively collection of marine animals. The inside is lined with a deep blue cotton that gives the bag a neat and colourful finish. It is a practical and dependable bag that works well for shopping trips, days out or carrying books and everyday essentials.
The outer fabric has the firmness you would expect from curtain or upholstery cotton, which helps the bag keep its shape and gives it long lasting strength. The dark blue lining adds a smooth interior and a pleasing contrast. The cotton webbing handles measure about sixty centimetres and are securely stitched in place. They are comfortable to hold and long enough to carry either in the hand or over the shoulder.
I use this style of bag myself most weeks. Mine has carried tins, bottles of squash and plenty of groceries without any difficulty. Although it is not intended for the very heaviest loads, it is a reliable companion for regular errands.
The fabric is not waterproof but it will cope with a brief shower. Colours are shown as accurately as possible although screens may vary.
The finished bag measures about forty eight centimetres in width, forty two centimetres in height and eighteen centimetres from front to back when fully open.
Postage is charged at the second class tracked small parcel rate. Any overpaid postage will be refunded.
