The inspiration for this design comes from the layered structure of real iris petals and the way colour shifts across them in natural light. The wispy pink glass provides a soft, luminous base, while the Oceanside Spirit glass introduces more defined areas of colour variation. The Van Gogh glass used for the beard adds a contrasting focal point. The intention is a carefully made piece that reflects the form and complexity of the flower without replicating it exactly, allowing the glass itself to shape the character of the finished object
Safety information
This item is glass and therefore breakable. Please handle with care and secure the item to a fixed point. All edges have been ground to remove sharpness. Consider how you display the glass and that it is in a safe location away from wagging dog tails or small hands! Lead solder has been used but this is very low risk. However, I always wash my hands after handling to reduce the risk to zero.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.

Full description
A hand crafted stained glass iris made from wispy pink glass for the main petals and Oceanside Spirit glass for the secondary petals, where purple, pink and white tones run through the glass in soft, irregular patterns. A small section of Van Gogh glass is used for the beard, adding a concentrated area of colour and texture. The piece has two hanging loops on the reverse, and securing both is recommended for stability when displayed in a window.
The iris measures approximately 17 cm in height and 11 cm in width.
This is a unique design created by Rowan Handmade, and other colour variations are shown in the final photograph and in separate listings.
Each iris is cut and shaped by hand using the traditional Tiffany foiled glass method. Every piece of glass is edged with copper foil, soldered, cleaned and sometimes finished with patina to deepen the tones. Craft glass naturally contains small variations and character marks which make every iris unique, and the colours shown in the photographs have been captured as accurately as possible.
Please ensure that you place (and secure) your glass in a safe location; if the piece falls it is likely to break. The item is not a toy.
