Full description
A textured, handmade wool landscape inspired by the rugged beauty of the British hills.
This original needle-felted piece captures the contrast between the dark, craggy fells and the bright, tangled wildflowers blooming in the valley below. I wanted to capture that feeling of looking up from a soft meadow towards the high, moody peaks.
I've used a real mix of fibers to give this piece its life; there are hand-blended earthy wools for the mountains, a hint of golden sunlight in the center, and plenty of messy, beautiful wool curls for the flowers in the foreground. It's very tactile and has a lovely 3D depth to it.
The Details:
Medium: Hand-felted merino wool, natural raw locks, and art fibers.
Size: Mount is approximately 30cm x 30cm (12x12") and fits a standard Hobbycraft frame - as shown in the last example photo.
Presentation: This artwork is unframed. It looks wonderful in a box frame to protect the 3D texture, or it can be mounted onto card for a more traditional look.
Shipping: Carefully packaged in a cellophane envelope to ensure the wool stays fluffy and arrives safely.
