Cornish surfite stud earrings - sunshine yellow and white

These summery stud earrings feature discs of Cornish surfite which has been bezel set in silver and finished off with sterling silver posts and scrolls. The surfite has a pattern of wavey stripes yellow and white with a hint of mint green. Some of the colours are opaque whilst others are translucent and light can bounce off the back of the setting. These studs measure about 11mm across but surfite is lightweight so they won't be heavy in your lobes. Comes gift boxed. Surfite is a build up of cured resin that forms during surfboard manufacture making these earrings a great gift for a surfer. Because it is a waste material there are air bubbles between the layers of resin, they weren't expecting anyone to want it so didn't burst the bubbles. I cut this particular material myself (by hand because I couldn't find a band saw big enough!!!) and you can see the original block and a work in progress shot in the photos (the rough isn't included). The rough material came from Toy Factory Surfboards in Newquay, Cornwall. Love the idea of surfite but want something else then drop me a message - I've got plenty of the rough left!
