All the wood is scraps, offcuts, donations, prunings or windfall. Even the firewood pile isn’t safe. Anything that might otherwise go to waste but looks pretty is up for grabs. The jewellery findings are all sterling silver.
There was a slab of worktop left over when we had the kitchen replaced and I made sure I kept it. I could tell this had potential. I love the embedded bits.
When we were on holiday in Portugal there were similar pendants made of local stone which help kick me into making something with this worktop.

Full description
A handmade, rectangular acrylic pendant embedded with pretty pieces of clear acrylic that look like stone. It’s polished smooth with soft, rounded edges. The top is gently curved but the bottom is a raw edge giving a lovely contrast to the smooth finish. The pendant is finished with a brown leather necklace, sterling silver findings and bolt ring clasp.
The pendant feels cool to the touch and has a nice weighty, solid feel.
SIZE: The pendant is approximately 5cm long, 2cm wide and 1cm thick. The necklace is roughly 50cm/20” long.
SHIPPING : Royal Mail Tracked 48.
PACKAGING : Presented in a Progress Crafts branded gift box made from unbleached and undyed recycled card (called hairy manilla which makes me chuckle). Posted in unbleached and undyed recycled card packaging or re-used packaging. All packaging is kept as minimal and as natural as possible.
SOURCE : This is a left over piece of Howdens Apollo Copper Pearl Acrylic Slab worktop from when we had a new kitchen fitted. Nothing goes to waste here!
MATERIALS : The pendant is acrylic. The necklace is red/brown leather. All the findings and bolt clasp are Sterling Silver 925.
