Summer for me is all about colour and sunshine and being by the sea. Whilst the sunshine isn’t always guaranteed, it does help to be an eternal optimist when it comes to the British weather! Traditional seaside places and scenes are a wonderful inspiration for producing mats that will bring colour and joy to the home.

For anyone who has ever dreamed of having their own little beach hut this gorgeous wall hanging supplies the dream (sort of) and has the added benefit of bringing colour and brightness to your home every day. Super fun and vibrant, it is made using a mixture of recycled and new wool fabric.
The piece is created using a traditional rug making technique known as ‘Hooky’ in the North East of England. Strips of wool are hooked through a hessian base to produce a vibrant and colourful hanging. The hand whipped edge provides a neat and robust finish.
This piece is designed as a wall hanging but can also be laid flat on a table top or floor if required.
