This is part of a series of collagraph prints depicting Polar bears.
I love nature but probably my inspiration for this print was the plight of the arctic and its beautiful animals.

Full description
An Original Collagraph print of a polar Bear in Prussian Blue Ink. I love printing in this colour ink and it works particularly well with snow scenes.
This print was chosen to display in The South Yorkshire Open Art Exhibition.
I have made a series of the Polar Bear Prints which are available in my shop.

What is a Collagraph Plate?
A collagraph plate is made from firm card (mount board) and you collage it using textured materials. Ranging from wallpapers, old bits of netting from fruit bags, fabrics, tape really anything which is flat enough to go through a press. It really is very versatile. You can also cut into the card, I sometimes press into the card with some little metal rollers this creates shading.
After you have done all the sticking and scratching and cutting etc, cover it in shellac so it has a tough surface and then you are ready to print.
