About this item
As you'll know if you're a sloth lover, they usually love to hang on to tree branches, but these sloths want to hang on to you! I've made these cute little fabric brooches using Sarah Watts' 'Lazy day' fabric from her Honeymoon collection for Cotton & Steel. The front of the brooch features a sloth that I've cut into a heart shape and then hand stitched onto a bright jungle green pure wool felt backing, using perle cotton. Both fabric pieces of the brooch are interfaced for strength and to avoid fraying, which adds a little soft padding to the piece too. I've also added some rigidity by sandwiching a piece of heart shaped mountboard between the two layers and there's a bar brooch on the back with a safety clasp, which I've also invisibly stitched to the felt backing, to keep it firmly in place. The brooch is available in either the blue or red fabric colourway - the blue has a deep pink perle cotton blanket stitch around the edge and the red has a bright green, but if you'd prefer a different colour thread, just let me know when you place your order. It measures 2.75 inches or 6.5cm, at the widest point.

Hello and welcome to my Folksy shop! My shop is closed temporarily and will reopen in the first week of November. I'm still reading and responding to messages as usual. ******************************************************************************************************************** I've been making for others since 2013 and if you'd like to see what my customers have said about my work since then (before I opened up here on Folksy), you can read more than 1,000 reviews on my web site: http://www.thecrimsonrabbit.co.uk/ (click 'Reviews' on the bar at the top of the page). In addition to the UK, I'm happy to ship most items to the US, Canada, Japan and Australia - just message me for a shipping quotation if a shipping price isn't shown against an item you're interested in. Many of the pieces I make are made to order and the shipping time is a 'worse case scenario' estimate - I will often make and send items quicker than indicated, although things do sometimes slow down at busy times. If you want something urgently, just message me and I'll confirm if I can meet your deadline. I send most of my items via Royal Mail's Tracked 48 service, unless otherwise indicated on the item's listing. I'm more active on Instagram than anywhere else: https://www.instagram.com/the_crimson_rabbit/ but you can always find me online elsewhere: my blog is here: www.thecrimsonrabbit.co.uk, my facebook page here: www.facebook.com/thecrimsonrabbitpage and my Pinterest addiction is evidenced here: http://www.pinterest.com/crimsonrabbit/ You can subscribe to my newsletter to hear about new designs, offers and giveaways! https://mailchi.mp/069210225db4/thecrimsonrabbit
