My inspiration for making this Brooch was to try and capture the delicate features of the Flower, while being durable to everyday wear and tear. I love intricate detail and as with all my designs I wanted to create a one off piece of Artwork. Poppies are brightly coloured flowers found in the wild or in cottage gardens. They flower early summer and grow to a height of about 18-24 inches. There are many different varieties of Poppy, but the most popular are the Corn Poppy, Field Poppy and the Flanders Poppy. They have been used through History as a symbol of sleep, peace & death. They have become the symbol of Soldiers who have died during War Time and worn on Remembrance Day, to commemorate them. This unique piece of Artwork, is a beautiful delicate and feminine Brooch, that would make the owner stand out in a crowd. It would make a Unique Gift for any Woman, to mark any occasion or celebration and will perhaps become an Antique of the Future........
