About this item
This gorgeous mini grouse was hand carved from iroko and mounted on a quirky piece of driftwood. The wood is naturally grouse coloured with a textured grain and I have just added some white detailing underneath along with eyes and beak. It is just 8cm tall, 8cm from beak to tail and 5cm wide max. overall.

I was given a small block of iroko and thought I would start with something small. I'm glad that I did because it is an incredibly hard wood to carve by hand and this is the only piece that I have managed to complete! It is naturally the perfect colour for a grouse.

Everything is so incredibly stunning! I can't help but smile every time I see the lovely birds. Both me and my dad said it's like they're alive, haha. The spirit of the animal is truly captured in each piece, and it's just a wonder to behold. If I were rich and had plenty of space, I'd fill a house with these beautiful birds! There's so much talent and love in every piece from this amazing artist!!
