About this item
This sparkly blue pendant is not much more than an inch in diameter. So it is ideal for anyone who doesn’t like big pieces of jewellery. No less than 35 tiny sapphire blue Swarovski bicone (xilion) crystals have been stitched around a deep blue heliotrope Swarovski rivoli. The rivoli makes a striking centerpiece as its pointed shape, front and back, gives it purple depths in which the silver of the surround of tiny seed beads is reflected. The piece is strung on a silver plated trace chain which is finished with a small trigger clasp. The pendant is 3cms (1.2ins) in diameter, approximately 5mm (0.2ins) thick and is suspended on a 46cms (18ins) chain. The pendant will be sent to you wrapped in acid-free tissue paper and packaged in a sturdy cardboard box for safe postage. After a few false starts I learned to stitch around rivolis from the excellent tutorial from Deborah Roberti at ‘Around the Beading Table’. Once this was mastered it was just a case of being creative and adding embellishments. I love this starburst effect and have tried it with several different colours.
This pendant is strongly made but as the beads are glass they will break if crushed, so should be kept away from small children and situations where this might happen.
