The inspiration for this painting was Winter trees, I wanted to create a moody and atmospheric small artwork. The painting shows a semi abstract woodland edge lit by a full moon, creating a mystical and moody atmosphere. The pale tree is called The ghost tree after it was struck by lightening and turned white. Local legend states if you stand near the ghost tree under a full moon you can hear the tree sprites singing.
