Bespoke Hand-Carved Coat Hook Rack Reclaimed Maple

A lovely piece, shaped entirely by hand. Every hook here is designed and hand-carved by me, from the block, using reclaimed maple. Nothing is routed to a template or mass-produced; each hook is shaped individually, so the grain, curve, and character of the wood varies from piece to piece. What you're buying isn't just a coat rack it's a small piece of original woodwork. The design takes its inspiration from nautical cleats, the sturdy fittings used to secure rope on boats and harbour walls, reimagined as substantial, sculptural hooks. They're strong enough for daily use, but shaped with the kind of attention you'd expect from a piece of furniture, not a hardware fitting. Each hook is finished with traditional Danish oil to bring out the depth and warmth of the reclaimed wood. The backboard is hand-painted in Dulux "Coastal Grey," a soft, understated tone that lets the hooks themselves take centre stage. Fixing holes are hidden behind the two end hooks, so once it's mounted, there's nothing to see but clean lines and hand-shaped wood. Designed and handmade by me in my workshop in Penryn, Cornwall.
