About this item

Materials
Slate, Cones, Conifer, Moss
Made in
Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk
Description

This Art piece represent circular stones of which there are many across the country and the Moss incorporates the Land of the Fae. The slate signifies that some henges are made of stone and others of wood as indicated by the conifer cones. It highlights the sacredness and importance of these sites whilst also acknowledging the Celtic Traditions of the Fae Folk. The circular shape also conjures the sensations when observing circular witch marks used in medieval houses. It was suggested to me that this could be used to commemorate the solstice and I agree but as with all things arty, meaning is in the eye of the beholder. Size 149 x 210mm
