About this item
Make your own unique prints and bookmarks using pressed botanicals and sunlight. Perfect for anyone who loves eco-conscious crafts, art and nature. To create the print, place the objects (botanicals in this kit) on the light-sensitive paper, then expose it to sunlight to 'take its picture'. Rinse the print in cold water to fix the image, then leave the paper to dry. It will work on both sunny and more cloudy days, with no special equipment needed. Perfect for beginners, artists, and families; no photography experience is required. Just add sunlight, cold water, and your imagination. It would make a lovely gift. Included in this premium kit: Pre-coated Cyanotype paper, bookmarks, bookmark tassels. A lovely selection of pressed botanicals, test strips, a clip frame and full step-by-step instructions. Packed carefully in a reusable white cardboard box. This is NOT A TOY; suitable for ages 7 plus. Adult supervision is recommended for children under 12. All the papers will be freshly coated for your order. For best results, I would advise using it within 1 month of purchase. (see batch code). Powered by Nature Cyanotype is considered one of the most sustainable and eco-friendly photographic/printmaking practices. It uses two safe iron salts, requires no darkroom, electricity, or toxic chemistry to develop; the prints are rinsed in plain water. Cyanotype depends entirely on UV light, so sunlight is essential, making it appealing for its simplicity and environmental integrity. I have endevoured to make this Cyanotype Kit as eco-friendly as possible:
