Handmade Liberty of London Lantana Dressing Gown Cosy Winter Robe Animal Kingdom

One-of-a-kind - only ever one made. This dressing gown was entirely handmade using genuine Liberty of London fabric in the Lantana print, a luxurious cotton and wool blend (80% cotton, 20% wool) prized for its warmth, softness and rich colour depth - a heavier, cosier weight than Liberty's classic Tana Lawn. A single robe uses several metres of this fabric and takes many hours to cut, sew and finish by hand, including the shawl collar, patch pockets, self-fabric belt, and a cosy brushed cotton winceyette (flannelette) lining in soft light blue. This isn't a factory-produced garment - it's a small-batch, one-off piece made with the same care as a bespoke item, designed to keep you warm through many winters to come. The maker has now retired, so this design can never be recreated - no one else will ever have the same one. The fabric design is called 'Animal Kingdom' and features a variety of animals, most notably elephants, giraffes and peacocks, in subtle shades of cornflower blue, purple, grey, black and white against a background of trees. Liberty Prints have been in production since the 1920s and are renowned for their distinctive designs drawn from the natural world; florals, paisleys and peacock feather motifs are some of the best known, with many original early designs remaining among the most popular today.
