Verdigris Foliage 3 - with envelope

From a collection of handmade cards inspired by the quiet beauty of vintage botanical journals. Each design features individually die-cut leaves, which I've inked in layered tones to create a distinctive verdigris effect. I have sourced my designs from the pages of vintage 1940s school textbooks, which have been hand-inked to softly stain and age the paper beforehand. The pages are then mounted onto backing card before I carefully die-cut the distinctive leaf shapes. The leaves are arranged on high-quality cartridge paper to create the feel of a collected nature journal, with fragments of the original textbook text adding an unexpected sense of history and character. Although the collection shares a consistent colour palette, composition and overall design, every card is unique. The variations in the original book pages mean that each leaf carries its own fragments of text, creating an individual character for every design. The finished artwork is mounted onto quality card stock to complete the overall design; each card is supplied with an envelope. Deckle edged mount - 14 x 14cm Card Approx. 15 x 15cm
